Q: Are the tires safe on top fuel cars?.
A:
Over the year's I have come across tires from Top Fuel car's that have had the side wall ripped apart. Back in 2006, the team's were trying out a new tire. The tire companies are probably at every race. It can't be easy building tires that need to be soft yet take tremendous pressures accelerating to braking.
The crash involving John Force was tire failure, a puncture to the side was no fault of anyone. But it did show us how close to balloon's these tires are at 300 mph+.
